Elliot Lake Services After Pandemic
The good news is that some of our events, such as Canada Day and Arts on the Trail, will be coming back this year, in some form.
Elliot Lake seniors are probably wondering how quickly life can return to normal, allowing you to enjoy the services and activities you were used to before the pandemic.
Well, to give you just that information, we did an interview with Elliot Lake Chief Administrative Officer Dan Gagnon and Community Development Officer Amanda Roy.
The good news is that some of our events, such as Canada Day and Arts on the Trail, will be coming back this year, in some form.
Additionally, many of our outdoor facilities are opening up so you can safely enjoy the summer. Some of the indoor facilities, such as the pool and library, are also up for a modified return to service. Many will be happy to know that there’s a new service – a cooling center – for those who find the summer heat unbearable.
Dan Gagnon also updates us about the progress with the arts and culture center, and Amanda Roy lets us know what to expect with the emergency support programs for seniors that the City initiated at the start of the pandemic.
So, do have a look at the video and make sure you don’t miss out on this important info.
This has been a long and difficult year. And even as we see light at the end of the tunnel, there are still stressors brought by the pandemic that many are grappling with.
The pandemic has made it clear that it’s important to take care of our mental health.
Just how best we can do that will be the focus of our next online fireside chat which takes place next Wednesday (June 16, 2021) from 2:00 pm.
At this event, you’ll hear about a range of free programs and services right here in our community that are available to seniors. These services can help us make it through any difficult passages we may face, whether related to the pandemic or not.
